Cultivation
Sow undercover March-November. Direct sow April-October. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Cover seed thinly and place outdoors somewhere frost-free. Germination may take up to 3 months.

Description

A favourite for a shady spring border, to grow with hellebores, honesty and tulip. It’s a totally invaluable, easy-to-grow border filler and an elegant upper storey cut flower.

Care Tips

Prefers a partially shaded spot so ideal for a woodland border. Will tolerate drier positions in shade, and full sun in moist soils. Displays are much more effective planted in groups of 3. Established plants may be divided in spring.
