Sweet Pea 'Blue Velvet' reviews
Reviewed 2nd August 2019 by Kate The web-site was clear and informative about sowing the seeds and what to expect, the seeds arrived in good time and were well packaged. I sowed them into root-trainers in January and they grew into healthy seedlings, planted out in May. We had a wet, cold June but they started flowering mid-June with long stems with multiple flowers on each, a strong deep blue and strong scent. By now, the beginning of August, they are petering out with short stems, but I have had lots of bunches and am very satisfied. |
Reviewed 1st August 2019 by Rona 100% germination rate, adore the depth of colour (least scented of the 3 I grew – Blue Velvet, Painted Lady and King Edward VII). Not as floriferous as the other two but the fabulous, fabulous colour more than making up for that. Very long, straight, strong flower stems, too (as has King Edward VII). I'll be growing all 3 varieties again next year. |

Reviewed 31st July 2019 by Aileen The packaging was excellent and the young plants were strong. The colour is stunning but much more purple than blue. My only criticism is that this variety doesn't produce as many flowers as I would expect. |
Reviewed 31st July 2019 by Alison Seedlings were well packaged and took well. |
Reviewed 31st July 2019 by Jacky Medium germination (18/26), medium flowers on medium to short stems, excellent colour. Still on the hunt for a dark blue with 'Windsor' vigour. |

Reviewed 25th November 2017 by Pat Johnson Fabulous sweet pea - vigorous, lovely scent, gorgeous colour. (And despite inevitable powdery mildew later in the season in our garden, still flowering in October!) |
Excellent
Reviewed 14th July 2016 by Jackie Davis I sowed these in root trainers in February and then planted them out in May. They have been gorgeous. A beautiful deep colour and a lovely scent. I have been picking them for weeks. I think the key to success has been very rich, manured soil and plenty of rain which we have had for months! Highly recommended. |
