Anchusa azurea 'Dropmore' is one of my favourite edible flowers for salads and ice cubes.

It is an excellent May-July flowering garden plant in the most incredible blue – a perennial which is quick and easy to grow from seed and makes a lovely cut flower.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting Sow April-July under cover or direct. Plant out late summer/early autumn to flower the following year.
Care Tips Stake plants and cut back stems after flowering in early autumn. Root cuttings can be taken from autumn to early winter and clumps divided in early spring, but it will self-seed freely.
Flowering May - July, the following year
Vase Life 5-7 days. Sear stem ends in boiling water for 20 seconds.
Harvesting Flower production: 2-3 months.
Cooking Notes The flowers are edible.
