Harmony, not contrast, is the name of the game here, with the luscious satin 'Antraciet' tulip mixed with the matching, 'Ruby Gem' wallflower.

This collection contains:
Genus Tulipa and Erysimum cheiri

Spacing Plant bulbs 20cm (8in) deep, 8cm apart. Layer bulbs if room is tight. Plant wallflowers 12inch apart, try to keep a good sod of earth round the root when you transplant as the tiny spider roots gives the plant a good start before winter.
Sowing, Seeds, Planting October - December
Care Tips Don’t plant tulips until mid-late October. Plant pointy end up 10-15cm deep, 8cm apart in borders (less in containers). You can use a mycorrhizal Bulb Starter. After flowering leave the foliage to die back naturally if you want to reuse the bulbs.
Flowering April - May
Vase Life Tulips make supreme cut flowers. Strip the bottom leaves, tie the stems in paper and allow to drink with the stems held vertical for 8 hours. This helps keep the stems straight. With wallflowers, they last up to 10 days in clean water and even last in a hot room which will bring out their scent. Sear their stem ends in boiling water for 20 seconds.

Tulips lovely but the wallflowers were very slow to get going and flower

Very big flowers on tulips were attractive, but a little darker than we anticipated. Wall flowers lasted well.Quite tall.
