Papaver orientale 'Patty's Plum' is the colour of blackcurrant ice-cream.

No good garden is complete without its poppies, lovely open flowers, ethereal and transient in their appearance, but robust and easy to grow. These Oriental varieties of poppy are all perennial too so will come back year after year.

Papaver orientale are remarkably resistant to pests and diseases and will overwinter well.

Care Tips Propogate by root cuttings in winter.
Flowering June - September
Vase Life Immediately after cutting put the bottom 2.5cm of the stem in boiling water for 20 secs. then plunge it into tepid water. They should then stay fresh for several days.
