No autumn garden is complete without its Michaelmas daisies, simple cottage garden perennials which flower long and hard in any soil. We have chosen only the very best to include here, which all grow quickly and easily and have good mildew resistance.

Vase Life They will look good for a fortnight. If you strip all the leaves below the water line and thin out the leaves up the stem a bit more, and put a drop of bleach in the water, it will maximise the cut-flower potential.

Maybe I've been unlucky but I was disappointed with these plants. They didn't seem very strong and haven't really grown well. Perhaps just need more time to get going.

Reply from the Sarah Raven Team:

"Hi Jean, Thank you so much for your review. These would normally flower from July through to October, so please do wait to see them flower later in the year."
