People will tell you that these newly bred echinaceas are not perennial. Well that's not what we've found in our trials. These 3 have come back in the cutting garden now for 5 years. They make superb garden plants (without too much crowding), and are amongst my favourite perennials for picking, with a cut-and-come-again nature and excellent vase life.
This collection contains 1 plant each of:Genus | Echinacea |
Group/Species | x hybrida |
Variety | Eccentric (PBR), Irresistible (PBR), Marmalade (PBR) |
Type | Hardy Perennial |
Common Name | Coneflower |
Border Position | Middle |
Soil Type | Acid, Alkaline, Chalky, Fertile, Neutral, Sandy |
Site | Full Sun |
Moisture | Well-drained |
Height | 75cm (30in) |

Sowing, Seeds, Planting | Plant in deep, moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Give them space to establish as echinacea do not like to be crowded and avoid damp spots. Incorporate plenty of organic matter, such as well-rotted manure or garden compost, into the soil before planting. Sprinkle mycorrhizal fungi (Rootgrow) into the base of the planting hole and water well. |
Flowering | July - September |
Vase Life | Flower production: 3 months |
