Sowing, Seeds, Planting Plant bulbs in spring in fertile, well-drained soil, it is best to lay the bulbs on a layer of sand or grit as they do not like to sit in winter wet. A sunny, sheltered position is ideal. Mulch in colder areas to protect from frosts. May also be planted in a large container and overwintered in a greenhouse or conservatory.
Care Tips Stop watering from late autumn to allow a dormant period, begin again in spring and water regularly 2-3 times per week during the growing season. It is also a good idea to add some organic fertiliser in early spring and give an occasional liquid feed when watering.
Flowering July - September, 3-4 months from planting to flowering.

Has put on plenty of leaf growth but not generated and flower stem. Not sure if this is normal and whether it will flower next year.

Came up well before burgundy eucomis. Looking good. Flowers yet to come. Again wondering how to overwinter this expensive bulb in Yorkshire.
