The three most outstanding phlox from all our trials, which we have now grown for years and love evermore for their perfume, length of flowering, mildew-resistance and general vase and garden punch.

This collection contains 1 or 3 x 9cm pots each of:
Type Perennial
Border Position Border (Middle)
Soil Type Broad Tolerance
Scent Scented
Site Full Sun
Moisture Moist but Well-drained
Height 90cm (36in)
Sowing, Seeds, Planting Prefers a moist, fertile soil so add garden compost or well-rotted manure if your soil is lacking in organic matter. Sprinkle mycorrhizal fungi (Rootgrow) into the base of the planting hole and water well after planting.
Care Tips Easy to grow, but will take a couple of seasons to establish fully. You may find young plants are susceptible to outbreaks of mildew. Apply a thick mulch of well-rotted manure or garden compost in spring to help enrich the soil and retain moisture. May need support to protect from wind and rain. Divide every 2-3 years in spring or autumn
Flowering June - September
Vase Life Strip the bottom leaves, and sear the stem ends for 10 seconds in boiling water and then place overnight in a bucket of cold water before arranging.
