I love clear blue flowers in the border and cut for a vase, and there are few more radiant blue perennials than catananche. Flowers last for ages both in the garden and vase, and you can hang them upside down to dry for winter arranging.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting | Grow in any moderately fertile and well drained soil. Plant with rotted manure in a sunny part of the garden, or in partial shade |
Care Tips | Cut back after flowering to encourage more blooms. Once established it has good drought resistance making it ideal for free draining soil. If grown on heavy soil it should be treated as a short-lived perennial. |
