This was trialled in 2019, to see if there was any truth in the claim that nemesias can be grown as perennial plants here. Despite all doubts, in its second year it is even bigger and better – a firm favourite. Covered in flowers like apple blossom with pale lemon throats and a soft, almond scent.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting Prefers a well-drained soil enriched with organic matter, or grow in containers. Plant straight out into containers or pot on into 9cm (3-4in) pots to grow on. Keep frost-free until mid to late May and gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions for 7-10 days before placing in their final positions.
Care Tips Flowering will stop in dry weather unless it is kept well watered. Pinch out growing tips to promote bushy growth. Cut back flowering shoots when initial flowering is finished to encourage another flush of flowers. Cut back to a around 10-15cm (4-6in) after flowering and overwinter in frost-free conditions if growing as a perennial.
