Care Tips Amaryllis are a tender bulb from Brazil and so need to be grown inside - frost free - when it's cold, but once the frosts are over and the nights are no longer cold, they can be moved outside until the end of summer. Think of them as a tender garden plant - not a house-plant and treat them much as you would a precious pot of freesia or non-hardy agapanthus. Grow inside in a bright, warm, sunny place - ideally 20 degrees. Keep free from draughts.

Reviewed 12th December 2019 by Ian

The bulb is a reasonable size and I am hoping to see the neck green up and split with an emerging bud shortly. I've had some disappointments with Amaryllis in the past as I find it difficult to maintain a gentle but constant heat to get them started. If a pot with a small heating mat or element was available I'd buy it.
