We've trialled lots of thymes at Perch Hill and this one, discovered by Jekka McVicar, is top of the class. It tastes excellent, flowers all spring, much earlier than most and when deadheaded and trimmed back after flowering, quickly leafs up and then flowers again. For edging a prominent path and for use in the kitchen, this is an unmissable variety.

Although planted in gritty soil ( alongside other thymes and lavenders which are thriving) these plants appeared happy, flowered profusely and after about 6 weeks turned brown and seem dead. Puzzling

Good dense thyme came through drought well in containers infrequently watered.

As far as I remember my order arrived promptly, was well packaged and contained healthy-looking plants. They were in flower. I planted one in the ground in a sunny location and two in pots as fragrant bedding for other plants (rosemary and later, cosmos). The plants in pots did less well than the one in the ground, probably because they got too dry, but I am treating those two as annuals. Used the leaves in cooking.

looks and smells lovely

Arrived in very good condition, lovely healthy looking plant and packed well.
It is a month on and it has already doubled in size and has been flowering which the bees are loving.
