I fell on this at a plant fair a couple of years ago, a pink perennial gypsophila. This looks best arranged simply on its own in clouds in a vase, or magnificent hanging as a mini-globe. It dries well too.
Genus | Gypsophila |
Group/Species | paniculata |
Variety | Flamingo |
Type | Perennial |
Common Name | Baby's Breath |
Border Position | Border (Middle) |
Soil Type | Broad Tolerance |
Scent | Unscented |
Site | Full Sun |
Moisture | Well-drained |
Height | 90cm (36in) |
Spacing | 60cm (24in) |
Sowing, Seeds, Planting | Plants do best when planted in a light well drained soil, add plenty of grit to the planting hole with plenty of sunlight. |
Care Tips | Prefers an alkaline soil and dislikes sitting in winter wet, so provide good drainage. Cut back after flowering to encourage a second flush of flowers. |
