The scented pot collection looks stunning however the geranium had very few flowers throughout the summer, possibly due to the watering requirements of the other two plants.
The Cosmos could hardly be described as candy stripe so pale were the stripes.
The sweet pea were stunning and we've had more cut flowers from these than in previous years - will definitely reorder.

I had to reorder these as the first order never arrived. Unfortunately I have been very dissatisfied with how these have grown, there is plenty of' green' growth but very few flowers. I am not tempted to purchase anything else from you as I have been so disappointed.

Not very impressed , the geranium totally invaded the pot, very few and small flowers. Loved the purple ones but didn't survive.

Disappointed overall - all the seedlings were so small & despite careful nurturing took a long time to grow. The heliotrope flowered once eventually, the Buddleia ' dreaming purple' did nothing at all (1 survived and flowered as a v small plant 2 weeks ago), you kindly replaced these. The only success was the pelargonium.

N.b the new Buddleia you replaced were so different from the original seedlings about 5 times bigger & established in no time.

Good plants. Unusual combination which I might not have thought of myself, and they have stood up to our windy Scottish garden well. I wondered though if they would have done so well in a normal summer

There were some problems with the order which is why I can only give 3 stars; however, SR customer service was extremely responsive and provided no-quibble immediate replacement/refund when notified of the problems. Specifically, part of the order (purple pot collection) was delivered earlier than agreed, left out in sun for a week til I returned - plants were not salvageable but were replaced by SR immediately, and the new plants have done wonderfully. The Aconite arrived with a note saying it had been cut down for transport 3 plants were leafless, the others had a few leaves - they failed one by one. SR refunded.

The budlea has been a great disappointment as only one plant has grown and the flower, one only, is a poor miserable specimen - the other was, I think buried by the enthusiastic growth of the other plants that are still very good.

I've received all of the plants and they're looking great. What would be truly helpful is to know how to plant the pot up. The photo isn't very helpful.

Heliotrope 'Midnight Sky' has been great, flowering profusely since it was planted in the spring. Buddleia 'Dreaming Purple' took longer to establish but has proved ideal for containers. Pelargonium 'Attar of Roses' is a disappointment; not so much a 'thriller' as a no-show. Lots of leaves but virtually no flowers.

Reply from the Sarah Raven Team:

"Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it.

We're sorry to hear that the pelargoniums in your collection have not performed as expected, unfortunately the weather this summer has not helped. They ideally need at least six hours of sunlight per day to help store enough energy to bloom. Without enough light, they will of course still grow, but it's unlikely they will flower strongly so if possible move your plants to the sunniest spot available . Another factor that can affect pelargoniums is watering , too much moisture can also affect their performance so ensure that your pelargoniums are in pots with adequate drainage, and don't water the plants unless the top layer of soil feels dry. If you have not already done so we would recommend that you apply a balanced liquid fertiliser every 10-14 days . Once flowers have started to form, switch to a high potassium fertiliser e.g. tomato feed. Hopefully they will soon start to flower, you can of course also over winter them and they will then be bigger to start off with next year and should start flowering much sooner.
Please do contact our Customer Service Team on 0345 092 0283 or info@sarahraven.com and they will be more than happy to discuss this further if you wish.

Kind regards,
The Sarah Raven Team"

Tip Top plants

I am really happy with these plants and their performance overall. The plugs were of excellent size and quality on opening and they instantly settled into their new container and just zoomed away. The buddleia did not make it to the size of those in the photo, but they didn't arrive until well into July, and still gave a very good performance. The pelargoniums grew enormously, and didn't flower very much, I expect I should have cut them back, but I decided to give them their head and see what happened. The heliotrope flowered and flowered. They are still in their pot close to the house, covered with some fleece. Two of the buddleias are definitely growing, and the pelargoniums still look very healthy and green; the mild winter hasn't really touched them. Fingers crossed that the cherry pie survive too.
