More Details

Gaura lindheimeri 'The Bride' has wonderful long, elegant spikes of pink buds opening to white flowers which flower longer – from May until November – than any other plant in my garden.

When cultivated outdoors in cold periods you may notice a bruise like pattern on the plant. This dark purple/maroon spotting will develop naturally on the foliage and although this can be a slightly alarming appearance, it is nothing to be concerned about. This is a physiological response to the low temperatures (not disease related) and will lessen and disappear with warmer temperatures and the emergence of new growth.

I passionately recommend this short lived perennial plant for the front of a border and a light and airy cut flower for a bedside table.

Beautiful and delicate

I bought these as seedlings last year and they didn't flower til August (had to deliver them to my sister in London, for her to post on to me in Southern Ireland and by the time they arrived they were a little worse for wear, so that may have delayed flowering), but they were worth the wait! Even better is the fact that 3 of the 5 survived the winter, so I'm hoping I'll get to enjoy their blooms earlier this year.

A lovely delicate looking flower

I bought the seeds and although the plants didn't flower until July, they are a lovely delicate looking flower. I first saw these plants in France, then at a Garden show in the UK so was very pleased to find the seeds. Very pretty pink then white flowers which float in the breeze. Will be ordering more
