More Details

We had 10 varieties of Thunbergias on trial last summer and this was the most magnificent – rich and irresistible in the height of summer.

The flower colours of this series can range from pale orange to deep, rich red, depending on how much sunlight the plants are exposed to. Place the plants in the sunniest position you can to encourage darker red blooms. As spring moves into summer and we benefit from longer, sunnier days, the flower colours will naturally become redder and deeper.

The plants were very healthy when I received them. I gave two to my daughter for her garden and planted three in mine. However, not one of the five plants have grown more than a few inches although a couple did flower. Very disappointed.

The plants were excellent! Arrived healtthy and well packed, so I was pleased. But sadly, due to a combination of poor spring weather and me planting them in the wrong place, they didn't do well I'm afraid, and I ended up pulling them up. I do not blame Sarah Raven in any way, and will still be ordering plants from you again . Hopefully I'll do better next year!

Very sturdy plugs which have grown into beautiful summer climbers. The colour is quite unusual and there are so many flowers on each one.

Started off well when potted on into small pots. Since planting out in prime sunny spot against supports has been very slow to grow compared to the common orange variety. Will see what August brings

These didn't perform as well as ones I had last year, possibly because it was so hot and dry that I had difficulty keeping up the watering regime. Very pretty flowers, just not that many of them.

I have planted these in various places in the garden in the open ground and in pots some in shade, some in full sun but not one of them has dark red flowers. If anything they are pale yellow to light orange. So big disappointment re colour but still like the plants.

NOT AS RED AS EXPECTED
