A really unusual tulip in a wonderful brandy-snap brown – Tulip 'Bruine Wimpel' is one of my current top favourites, exotic and glamorous with true sophistication for those who want to grow something out of the ordinary.

Reliable, long-flowering, good weather resistance and good reappearance year after year.

Our tulip bulbs are the best and biggest we can find, from tried and trusted growers. Don't forget that tulips like to be planted late in October and November with the colder weather, and need a little watering if planted in pots.

Spacing Plant 30cm (12in) deep, 8cm apart. Layer bulbs if room is tight.
Sowing, Seeds, Planting Plant outdoors October - December.
Care Tips Don't plant tulip bulbs until the cold weather has set in – this helps wipe out viral and fungal diseases. Leave the browning foliage on your tulips until every leaf has died right down – this allows the bulb to store more food.
Flowering April
Vase Life Tulips make supreme cut flowers. Strip the bottom leaves, tie the stems in paper and soak for 8 hrs. This helps keep the stems straight.

Robust tulip, in flower from mid April (Srn England). However, colour not at all as shown in the catalogue but yellow - like pale banana or unripe apricot slightly flushed with pink. What is going on?
