More Details

This was one of my favourite bulb mixes in the garden and picked for arranging last spring. It's elegant and pretty in coffee and apricot with powerful scent thrown in.

This collection contains 5 or 10 bulbs each of:
Genus Narcissus, Tulip
Variety Fragrant Rose, La Belle Epoque, Sweet Eyes
Type Hardy perennial bulb
Common Name Daffodil, Tulips
Border Position Container, Front, Middle
Soil Type Chalky, Fertile, Neutral, Sandy
Scent Scented
Site Full Sun, Part Shade
Moisture Well-drained
Height 40-45cm (16-18in)
Spacing Narcissi - plant pointy end up, 10-15cm (4-6in) deep with three to four inches between each bulb. Tulip - don't plant tulip bulbs until the cold weather has set in – this helps wipe out viral and fungal diseases.
Sowing, Seeds, Planting October - November
Care Tips Leave the browning foliage on your bulbs until every leaf has died right down – this allows the bulb to store more food.
Flowering March - April
Vase Life Narcissi make great cut flowers lasting up to a week in the vase. I love them jumbled up in large jugs on the table. Be careful mixing with other flower types as their stems give off a compound that is toxic to other flowers and soak their stems in warm water before displaying to stop the 'goo' from running out.
