I’ve seen these crocuses — or something very like them — growing on the edges of the snow in the White Mountains in Crete, the first sign of spring, even at 4000 feet. Grown with the similarly early flowering scilla, they bring spring closer in a windowbox or pot by your front door.

Care Tips
Can be naturalized easily in grass but wait until the foliage has died down in June to cut the grass.
