Description

The wild, wood anemone is one of the most beautiful wild flowers of early spring. You'll see wood anemones in any ancient wood, flowering from February until the bluebells open in May.

Plant a few of these in your garden – different colours and varieties – in the shade under the skirts of trees and shrubs, or out at the front of the border in full sun. They'll grow happily anywhere, increasing gradually from year to year.

Please note: This may look like a bit of twiggy compost when it arrives (see image) but these 'twigs' are the rhizomes. Soak overnight in a bucket of water before planting and they will double in size and start growing more quickly than if planted dry.

This can be gift wrapped in our exclusive hessian sack, with ribbon and a Sarah Raven gift card. You will be able to add this to your basket once you begin the checkout process. To add a gift message to your order, simply fill out the details at the delivery stage of the checkout.

Please note: only items which are showing ‘in stock’ can be gift wrapped.

Care Tips

Preferably plant on mass in woodland conditions with moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil in partial shade. Drier conditions tolerated when dormant in summer. Plant 7-8cm deep,10-15cm apart on their longest side.
