Sowing, Seeds, Planting When planting envelope the bulbs in sharp sand or you will lose them (particularly in heavy soils). Just leave them where they are from one year to the next, or plant them in a pot and sink them in the ground somewhere very prominent in the garden for lifting out of the wet and cold until the following spring.Plant each bulb 15-20cm deep in soil enriched with well-rotted organic matter or leaf mould.
Care Tips Deadhead the faded blooms promptly and cut the dead stems back to ground level at the end of autumn.
