Gladioli are wonderful for bringing drama to borders and arrangements. This one, in rich purple-black, is one of the most glamorously dramatic of all the large-flowered types. If you plant corms every couple of weeks in succession, you can be picking them all the way through summer and into the autumn.

Care Tips Water regularly during growing season and stake tall varieties. Lift after first frosts. If you're growing in containers, stop watering at the end of summer and bring the pots indoors for the winter. Leave them in their pots or take them out and dry. Vase Life Remove the bottom leaves, I prefer to leave the spike tip as this is part of the plants appeal but removing it will encourage more flowers below.
