Cultivation
Plant 10-15cm deep, with bulbs 10cm-15cm apart. These are perennial and long-lasting so plant them somewhere permanent.

Description

I love the elegance of this variety, like Allium sphaerocephalon, but almost double the height. These sort of glorified leeks are super-bold and architectural, particularly good planted with backlighting. Totally perennial.

Allium petals are edible, you can scatter them on salads. We use the more delicate types like cowanii and unifolium most often at Perch Hill.

Removing the foliage once it becomes tatty doesn't appear to affect the bulbs.
