More Details

The tulips here are all selected to be beautiful – of course – also relatively short, so they are perfectly suited to a container or windowbox. And they are all double, peony-flowered varieties, which means, as sterile forms, they flower for twice as long as many.

In this jam-packed and showy combination we overplanted the tulips with Narcissus 'Baby Boomer' for its chive-like foliage and scent as well as Geum 'Mai Tai' and Helleborus 'Merlin' to prolong flowering from January to June.

This collection contains 5 or 10 bulbs each of:

Our tulip bulbs are the best and biggest we can find, from tried and trusted growers. Don't forget that tulips like to be planted late in October and November with the colder weather, and need a little watering if planted in pots.

This can be gift wrapped in our exclusive hessian sack, with ribbon and a Sarah Raven gift card. You will be able to add this to your basket once you begin the checkout process. Care Tips Don't plant tulip bulbs until the cold weather has set in – this helps wipe out viral and fungal diseases. Leave the browning foliage on your tulips until every leaf has died right down – this allows the bulb to store more food and increases the chances of good flowering the following year.
Flowering April - May
Vase Life Tulips make supreme cut flowers. Strip the bottom leaves, tie the stems in paper to hold the stems ram-rod straight and leave to drink for at least 3 hours – or overnight. This helps keep the stems straight, but tulips do continue to grow after picking so curves may appear.
