Product Description
For winter salads, you need the truly hardy varieties, which will grow well outside your door, or in window boxes or containers, even if your winters get very cold.
Sow these winter salad seeds anytime between August-March. There are eight different leaves in this winter selection to give an excellent range of colours, tastes, textures and shapes.
- Mustard ‘Red Frills’ – which tastes of new potatoes
- Mustard ‘Golden Streaks’ – with bright frilly, acid-green leaves with horseradish taste
- Mizuna - the classic and invaluable cut-and-come-again leaf for salads and stir-fries
- Cress ‘Bubbles’ – pretty with its gathered and crinkled leaf and hot cressy flavour
- Salad Rocket – peppery, very hardy cold weather rocket
- Lettuce ‘Cocarde’ - to harvest as background flavour baby leaves
- Lettuce ‘Green Oak leaf’ – bright green, pretty and tasty and will crop for 4-5 months at a stretch from autumn to spring. These two lettuces grow at twice the rate of other lettuces so they won’t get swamped by the rapidly growing things.
- Seeds: 500
