Product Description
Small golden yellow-orange tomatoes with the sweetest flavour of any tomato I know. 'Sungold' is very prolific and my children's favourite. We do a second sowing of this for planting inside. If kept frost free, and the tips not pinched out, 'Sungold' crops until November. Its smaller fruit will ripen even when light levels are low.
- EASY
- Sow: February-March and April (for a second crop if you have a greenhouse)
-
Seeds: 10
Sowing: Sow under cover at end of Feb/early March for planting out in April/May Can be grown in a greenhouse or outside in a sunny, fertile, well-sheltered spot. Under cover or outside they need staking, and regular watering and feeding for best results. Need trimming and support, pinch out the tops once they have set 5 or 6 trusses. While still small, you also need to pinch out the side shoots Final Thinning/Planting Distance: Leave 60-90cm between each plant. Plant them deep, sinking them to a depth of 0.5cm below the seed leaves. Harvesting: Cordons fruit over a long period. You should be picking tomatoes in July and continue harvesting from the cordons until September Storing: Make tomato sauces for the winter. They will freeze well. Tomatoes will store at room temperature for 4-5 days
