Kale 'Red Russian' is the longest producer in my kitchen garden. I pick the baby leaves for salad and allow some to grow full-size as kale.

| Sowing: | Direct sow April to September. (Can be sown under cover or cloches for winter salad.) Kale are very hardy and grow in poorer soils than other brassicas. They like a sunny spot, on well-drained soil |
| Final Thinning/Planting Distance: | 10-15cm for salad. 30cm for whole plant for stir-fry. |
| Harvesting: | 4-6 weeks from sowing Leaf production: 2-3 months. Harvest all year from 2-3 sowings. |
