Amaryllis ‘Liberty’ is the loveliest very deep, dark red, so much nicer
than the widely available
scarlets.
We associate amaryllis with Christmas, but in fact spring is their natural flowering time. These amazing forms are no more difficult to grow than the bog standard varieties and look magnificent.
Amaryllis are tender bulbs from Brazil and so need to be grown inside – frost free – when it’s cold, but once the frosts are over and the nights are no longer cold, they can be moved outside until the end of summer.
