Lavender ‘Hidcote Blue’ is the most floriferous of the compact lavenders, with purple-blue flowers. Incredibly reliable.
Lavenders – with my new pollinator obsessed hat on – are the perfect plants. Lavender ‘Hidcote Blue’ looks good all year, has incredible scent, which lasts when dried AND is rich in pollen and nectar for much of summer so the bees and butterflies love it. Add plenty of grit before you plant ‘Hidcote Blue’ if you garden on heavy clay soil like mine at Perch Hill.
- Good for beginners
- Attracts bees, butterflies and insects
