I always sow my sweet peas and beans into rootrainers. The deep shape and channels down the insides of these pots make any bean or sweet pea form a root ball twice as quickly to standard pots. They thrive with a long thin root run.
The rootrainer is easy to open when you want to remove your plants, and there is minimal root damage.
Simply fill the cells with compost and push a seed down 2-3cms in to it.
