Cabbage 'Filderkraut' is a giant pointed cabbage that is delicious for coleslaws and the one for healthy and delicious sauerkraut.

You can plant these close together if you want to prevent it growing too large.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting Sow April-May. Sow seeds under cover into individual seed modules - sow two seeds into each module. After germination, thin out the weakest one. Grow on until the roots fill the module (about 5 weeks) and plant them out. Easy germination.
Care Tips Net them to protect them from birds and caterpillars. Plant with mint and thyme to ward off pretadors.
Harvesting October - April
Cooking Notes Rip the leaves off one at a time and get rid of most of the central stem. Always cook cabbage with the lid off, to keep it bright green. It is delicious raw or cooked.
